My
dear brothers and sisters, how can you claim to have faith in our glorious Lord
Jesus Christ if you favor some people over others? — James 2: 1 (NLT)
God’s
Word has always been about love. A love that encompasses and a love that
includes everyone. For today’s scripture, we are reminded not to discriminate.
We are invited to be like Jesus. Such as He came for everyone, we are invited
to love everyone in equal measure.
We are
invited not to look down on the poor and raise the rich to pedestals. It is so
easy to fall into the trap of judging our neighbors by the standards of this
world. We are reminded to love our neighbors as we love ourselves and to look
at others with mercy instead of judgment.
God
bless us all and may God’s love shine through us.
