Venire ad me | Come to me

"Let the children come to me" - Luke 18:16.

Everyone is invited to come closer to Jesus. All men and women. As we can learn from two parables about a persistent widow and tax collector, every person needs him. We always need Jesus not to give up on our endeavors. Although, there are people who neither fear God nor care about others. But we want to pray and meet the Son of God.

The Advent season is a time of persistent prayer and preparation for the coming of Jesus. In this special period of the liturgical year, we try to attend the holy Eucharist and spend more time with God. We don't worry that other people ignore the spiritual life. But, we keep praying and interceding for them. We "cry out to God day and night" (v. 7). We open our hearts and discuss everything with the Lord. And we will receive all the necessary graces. We don't have confidence in our own righteousness but we trust in the Lord.

Let us come to the church to pray. Let us become humble and ask for God's mercy. For we know our sinfulness and fragility. We need to be justified before God.

The merciful Father waits to bless us who are his beloved children. The Son of God calls for us and speaks to us through the Scriptures. He encourages us to come closer to him. For "the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like children" (v. 16).

Before our heavenly Father, we can stand in sincerity and truth. We don't need to pretend that we are someone else. When we are trustful as little children, we can enter the heavenly Kingdom.
