"The good person out of the good treasure of the heart produces good, and the evil person out of the evil treasure produces evil; for it is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks" – Luke 6:45.

Dear friends in Christ Jesus, who among us don't want to be recognized as a good person in the society that we live in. Not only in society but we also want to be seen by God as a good person. We usually use our human standards to see whether the person is good or bad and often our judgements are wrong. God can for sure see the heart and read the mind of the person. The heart of God is nothing but full of love and mercy. What about our hearts? It depends on where our treasure lies.
We read in the gospel of John 7:38 – "As the scripture has said, 'Out of the believer's heart shall flow rivers of living water.' " When we have the Holy Spirit living in our hearts, out of our hearts will flow rivers of living water. There will be words of love and mercy, there will be Word of God, there will be words of healing, consolation and prayer. In fact we become instruments in the hands of God to do his will. This is possible by giving our heart totally to God, by giving God the first priority, by reading the Word of God and living it, by spending time in personal and community prayers.
The world that we live in offers us a lot of things. We have total freedom and it is up to us whether to fill our hearts with those junks or not. Let us choose wisely. Let us fill our hearts with the Word of God. Fear of God is the beginning of Wisdom and the real wisdom is living a life according to the teaching of Jesus.
