Tu es Filius meus dilectus (Lk 3:22).

You are my beloved Son.

It is true that we are beloved children of God. This truth should make us responsible and humble. Thus, we are to follow the example of John the Baptist who even being a great prophet humbled himself. He did know that he was dependent and his power came from the heavenly Father. All gifts he had he received as the grace of God. Moreover, he was aware that every human being needs to be cleansed in the water of reconciliation. Afterwards, it is possible to be gifted with the fire of the Holy Spirit. In such a way, all of us are able to become brothers and sisters of the Son of God. This is a wonderful mistery which is to be contemplated by us. Threre is never enough praise, worship and prayer to understand it completely. It can only be comprehended in the open heart which is enkindled by the divine flame.  

Quis est qui vincit mundum (1 Jn 5:5).

Who indeed is the victor?

Believer is a strong man because his faith helps him to live. He is never alone because he always follows Jesus. And even if it is very difficult, he never gives up because his Saviour showed him how to overcome the problems. Accordingly, the believer knows both how to enjoy and how to suffer. He is not afraid of any circumstances. Such a man is supported by the Holy Spirit who is the source of his strength and courage. Furthermore, he is certain that his Father is waiting for him in the heavenly kingdom. In such a way, the person who has strong faith is optimistic, thankful and peaceful. He seeks opportunity to pray all the time for there lays true happiness. Keeping contact with God and depending on him is the crutial thing for his spiritual life. As a result, the believer is becoming more and more aware of being a beloved child of God. And it makes him the true victor of the world too.

Quodcumque petierimus (1 Jn 3:22).

Whatever we ask.

We usually do not believe that we receive from God whatever we ask. Either we think that we are not worthy to receive his graces, or we do not ask him according to his will. These are two problems we are to deal with if we would like to please him. Firstly, we ought to be ready to receive holy communion and live without any serious sin. It's first and main condition to become worthy of divine graces. Secondly, we are to keep his commandments which means loving God and our neighbors. It does not seem too difficult to manage it. However, sometimes we follow evil spirits and commit sins we do not like to do. Also we listen to false prophets and are led by them. As a result, the Spirit of God cannot work in us in fulness. Therefore, now again we are invited to acknowledge Jesus as our only Redeemer and Master. We are to get hold on him strongly and do not let anything take us away from him. While being with Jesus and feeling his presence, we can be sure that everything is possible for us. Since he is much greater than our weakness and susceptiblity to sin.
