Corda | Hearts

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes but the Lord pondereth the hearts - Proverbs 21:2

Dear brothers and sisters, we rarely find honesty, sincerity, and purity of heart in our modern times. Many times we find people - or even ourselves - giving a hand to others, offering help, or lending whatever is needed. Everyone who sees such acts will say they are commendable, that the person is good, that this surely brings praise, and that it will surely be blessed.

Dear brothers and sisters, this may also be our own experience. We give and we help, knowing that it will bring great reward and praise - without wanting to know, without wanting to inspect or introspect the motivation that lies behind our actions.

We can say to others, "I am telling the truth," and others can likewise claim they are telling the truth, and so people will easily trust. But we must beware: no one knows what is in our heart except God. Manipulation in its negative sense will never be blessed. Never be deceitful; don't trick others. It is our dear God who knows perfectly "the texture of our heart, the interior of our heart." God will bless us immediately when He knows we are doing good.

God is always happy knowing His children are doing good. Yet doing good in the eyes of people is not always good in the eyes of our dear God! He wants us to always be honest, sincere, and pure in heart. We need to inspect our hearts all the time, and this will lead our steps to heavenly blessings and, ultimately, to our eternal salvation.

Blessings for us all!
