Per angustam portam (Lk 13:24).

Through the narrow gate...

Jesus is demanding. He wants us to improve and as a result to be saved. However, it cannot be done without any effort. Therefore, he encourages us to be strong and to try our best to enter the Kingdom of God. Consequently, we are to use every moment of our lives to become better and better. We are to ask and to search for God all the time. For without him we are not able to accomplish anything. Furthermore, he knows us very well and all our deeds. So, if we want to join the company of angels and saints, we need to regret our sins. And in this case we will see them in the heavenly Kingdom. Otherwise, we will suffer while departing from God. In the Heaven there will be time of joy and peace. There we will give thanks to the Lord and bless him. There we will contemplate the glorious splendor of God himself. Since God is faithful in all his words and in what he had promised too. But now there is opportune time to strive to enter his Kingdom.

Ut filii lucis ambulate (Eph 5:8).

Live as children of light.

Kindness and tenderness are characteristics of our God. As his children we are to be like God's beloved Son, Jesus Christ. He was compassionate and forgiving despite human weaknesses. He loved us so much that he was eager to remember only good things about us. Inspired by love he gave his life for us. In such a way, he became a fragrant aroma which arises up to the heavens. His desire was to make us holy and blameless. He wanted us to live as children of the divine light. As a result, we were supposed to become heirs of the Kingdom of God. And nothing is more important and essential in our life. For we are to behave as God's very dear children. Accordingly, we will delight in the aboundance of God's graces. Also we will produce good fruit and always prosper.

Quia factus sum pater (Jer 31:9).

For I am a father.

God is like the father who does great things for us. We are glad because we are children of such a Beloved One. If we follow his precepts, we are filled with joy. Since he leads us on the roads of our life. Also he restores our fortunes and defends us against the attacks of our enemies. Even if we are in danger, he is with us all the time. Moreover, he changes our troubles into good things. For these reasons, we are to offer gifts and sacrifices. We are to regret because of our sins and mistakes. And when our God sees that we are humble, he strengthens us to become similar to his only Son. In such a way, we can be priests to serve our Creator. But first, he has to heal our blindness and make us courageous. Consequently, we throw aside our bad habits and follow Christ wholeheartedly. At once we receive our sight and perceive the beautiful things in our lives. For we are fully aware of being the heirs of the divine graces.

Mensura donationis Christi (Eph 4:7).

Measure of Christ's gift.

Christ came to the world to give us everything and to explain us where it comes from. He visited us because of his great love and caring for each of us. We often forget about it and try to live by our own. However, all our gifts and talents have their source in him. First of all, we live because he wanted us to exist on the world. Secondly, we are able to study and work because he gave us this possibility. Next, he did equip us for the task we are going to fulfill. And our aim is to build up the Body of Christ on the earth so that we could achieve the reward of eternal life. Since our starting point is God and also our end is located in him. We are supposed to live the truth in love and grow in every way to be holy. It should be our program of life which will make us rejoice. Overall, we are to be thankful for all God's graces given to us.

Vinctus in Domino (Eph 4:1).

A prisoner for the Lord.

To be a prisoner for the Lord first of all means to be humble. Not only in relations with people, but particularly with our God. Secondly, you are to be kind. Since kindness opens hearts of others and makes your heart tender too. As a result, you become patient and ready to help the needy. Furthermore, you love your sisters and brothers with sincere love. All of these is done in peace which is a sign of God's blessing. Also it shows that your faith is strong enough and you fulfill your vocation to be holy as your God. Subsequently, your hands are sinless and your heart is clean. In such a way, you are able to seek and find the face of the God. And for sure, he will reveal to you the mysteries of the Kingdom.

Flecto genua mea ad Patrem (Eph 3:14).

I kneel before the Father.

To pay homage to God is a great thing. It means that he is very important to us and we are grateful indeed. During our prayers we are being strengthened and take part in the riches of his glory. We do receive his Spirit and are glad because Christ dwells in our heart through faith. Furthermore, we begin to love others as our brothers and sisters. Also we are able to understand more about the creation and our Creator. Step by step we learn how good is the love of Christ that surpasses all our knowledge. Finally, we get to know that the God's will is the best plan for each of us. And fulfilling it is the easiest way to the Kingdom of God. As a result, we can enjoy everything which happens in our lives and praise God for it. Since we are certain that our history is full of kindness of our Lord who does not want to hurt us but save. And the design of his heart is based on divine love. For that reason, we just need to open our hearts for his grace in order to become holy.

Minister secundum donum gratiae Dei (Eph 3:7).

Minister by the gift of God's grace.

Everything we receive from our God is his gift. For that reason, we are to be thankful and to share it with one another. Especially spiritual gifts should be given to people who need them. And if we exchange them, we get much more in return. We are granted other new gifts of God's grace which are inscrutable and immeasurable. In such a way we become holier and holier. Moreover, we gain wisdom of God and his might to progress. It usually happens in the Church when we take part in the holy sacraments. There the gateway to the heavenly kingdom is open. There we draw water joyfully from the springs of salvation. There we become strong in the Lord and confident and unafraid. Overall, we ought to give thanks to our God and to witness among our brothers and sisters. Further, we are to let the Good News be known throughout all the earth. In this way, we can fulfill our vocation to be good missionaries and God's ministers. And it is required of us willing to follow Jesus Christ, our Lord and Master.

Deus dives in misericordia (Eph 2:4).

God who is rich in mercy.

All of us commit sins. As human beings we are very weak and often offend our God. Nonetheless, our Father in Heaven is very merciful  and ready to forgive us. He is not like us who take offence and do remember the errors of our neighbours. We do so and at the same time follow the wishes of the flesh and its impulses. In such a way, we are hypocrites and by nature children of wrath. However, our God is rich in mercy and loves us very much. For that reason, Jesus Christ came to the world and brought us to life again. He does the same in the holy sacraments of the Church and by grace we are being saved. Moreover, he raises us up from our low desires and wants us to be seated with him in Heaven. The reason is that we are created in Christ Jesus for the good works and belong to him. Further, we are to sing joyfully to the Lord and serve him with gladness. Since it is our vocation to be holy and blameless in God's sight. Finally, we are to abide with him in the Kingdom of Heaven forever and ever. Amen.

Voluntas Domini prosperabitur (Is 53:10).

The will of the Lord shall be accomplished.

Sometimes our will is not the same as our Lord's will. The reason is that we are not familiar with suffering and changing our plans. But God, our Father, knows that difficult situations are important for our progress too. Since in affliction we are able to see the light in fulness. Subsequently, we can come closer to the Son of God who died for us. Through his suffering he has justified many and born their guilt. We are supposed to follow his example and to place our trust in God Almighty. For his words are upright and trustworthy. He will fulfill what he has promised and will change our bad experiences into something good for us. His eyes are still upon our life and especially when we are troubled and distressed. He has power to deliver us even from death and to preserve us in spite of danger. Therefore, our soul is to wait for the Lord who is its help and shield. Furthermore, we are repeatedly asked to approach the throne of grace in the holy sacraments of the Church. Since there we have a great high priest, Jesus Christ, who has passed through the heavens to join us and to become one of us.

In lumine audientur (Lk 12:3).

Will be heard in the light.

We ought to be sincere. It means that there should be a connection between our words and truth. However, we usuallly speak a lot but do not care about the truth. Subsequently, there is no good relationship between people. For the truth must be a fundament on which everything is being built. Not only the relation with God, but also with one another. On the other hand, lies destroy the best organizations and attack their roots. Therefore, we are to be afraid of speaking even white lies. Since our God, the Father of Truth, takes care of us and blesses us if we do live a honest life. He is not able to support liers nor people who are deceitful. His kindness is upon the ones who fight for the truth in their lives. He chooses them and talks to them about his love and justice. They are chosen for his own inheritance to give thanks and chant his praises. Furthermore, they who believed in him are sealed with the promised Holy Spirit and achieve salvation through the Gospel.

Operarii autem pauci (Lk 10:2).

The laborers are few.

Nowadays Jesus also chooses his disciples to preach the Gospel. He calls them by name and sends around the world. For he knows very well that there are still peoples who do not recognize him as their Lord. There are still places on the world where circumstances are dangerous and difficult. Moreover, the needy live there and are waiting for the Good News. In these regions men and women are lacking freedom and divine graces. Therefore, first the apostles are to carry peace to human hearts. Especially, to the nations which are in the state of war and disturbance. They do desire rest from evil battles and bloodshed. To this people we are to proclaim that the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand for them and God indeed wants them to be happy and to live in peace. For it is a vocation of both man and communities. In addition, all of us long to admire God's might and his glorious splendor. And we really are in need for holiness in our works and to understand that the Lord is near to us who call upon him in truth.

Spiritu ducimini (Gal 5:18).

Guided by the Spirit.

We are to be led by the Holy Spirit. However, we often forget about it. Subsequently, we can be easily misled by evil spirit. Later, sins occur in our lives and we harm one another and even our God. For every sin destroys the relations between relatives. Moreover, it builds our selfishness and we more and more abandon our heavenly Father. As a result, we are further and further from the Kingdom of God. On the other hand, if we live by grace, the beautiful fruit appears through us. There is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity and faithfulness in our life. In addition, everything seems to be under control and according go God's will. Although, we sometimes suffer, also in our bad experiences we are able to discover blessing. Therefore, it is worthy either to live in the Spirit or to follow the Spirit. In such a way, we have the light of life from our Lord which leads us directly to heaven.

Libertate nos Christus liberavit (Gal 5:1).

For freedom Christ set us free.

As a gift from the Heavens all of us have received freedom. A sign of it is our free will. But with this special present we also have some tasks to perform. One of them is to be thankful and to praise our Lord all the time. As a result, we are to remember our God from the rising to the setting of the sun. Moreover, we should go and proclam great things of our Creator to all the nations. For there is only one God, our Father, who takes care of us. He raises the lowly from the dust and lifts the poor from the humbleness. In such a way, he always makes us free and blessed. Subsequently, when we experience his gentleness, we are not to harden our hearts. On the contrary, we need to seek him more and more diligently and to hear his wisdom. Since there is nothing greater than our God, the Creator of heaven and earth. And just with his support, we are able to be truly free and enjoy our life fully. His words and graces lead us every day to achieve the freedom of heart and inner peace.

Nemo bonus, nisi unus Deus (Mk 10:18).

No one is good but God alone.

It is good to come close to Jesus Christ. However, when we approach him, we must be prepared for hard words. For he knows us very well and always speaks to our heart directly. Sometimes it hurts, because we often do not want to open ourselves for truth. But in front of Jesus we cannot hide anything as he is able to see us through. Although he is very gentle with us, he uses every occasion to make us better. And when he looks at us with love, his eyesight has power to soften our heart and to make it similar to his divine heart. Furthermore, he says only what is the most necessary for each of us and shows the best way to his heavenly kingdom. Afterwards, we usually have to change our way of life and follow him completely. But always it depends on us if we take his message seriously. We are also able to forget his words and live our life as before. In this case we will become sad and unhappy. On the other hand, if we do follow his steps, everything will be prossible for us. We will receive hundreds times more now in this present age and eternal life in the age to come.

Vos unus estis in Christo Iesu (Gal 3:28).

You are all one in Christ Jesus.

Because our God is also our Father we are all strictly united as brothers and sisters. We are supposed to sing to him and to proclaim his wondrous deeds. For it would be ungrateful not to perceive all his miracles in the universe. In addition, we are to seek him constantly among us. He was, is and will be with us all the time guarding and supporting us. Without his grace we are not able to live even a moment. Since as children of God we start existing from him through our parents. And our whole life is to give him thanks for everything he has done for each of us. However, many people still have problems with hearing his voice and seeing his signs. They can discover beauty in the nature very easily, but they are not able to find its Source. For that reason, we are invited to read the Bible carefully. There are many hints to help us looking for the Creator. And everyone who does read the Scriptures has an opportunity to start talking with his Father from Heaven.

Digito Dei eicio daemonia (Lk 11:20).

By the finger of God.

Jesus is with us all the time. He is our strength in the fight against the devil. With him we are able to manage everything in our life but we must be inwardly undivided. If we are for Jesus Christ, we cannot agree for any sin. We are to have only one Master who is our Lord and Winner over the death. In his humbleness he has shown us how to prevail against the evil. Where Son of God is, there is the heavenly Kingdom. And his grace helps us to cleanse us from our weaknesses and to make us strong enough in the battle for good. However, we must be well prepared and cautious not to be defeated. Since even a small agreement for the lightest sin might lead us to captivity. The reason is that the unclean spirits roam through the world to find weak people to capture them. Therefore, we are supposed to give thanks to the Lord with all our hearts in the company and assembly of the just. In such a way, we will be secure from the tricks of the devil. Moreover, we will enjoy in his wondrous deeds and adore the majesty and glory of our beloved Father. Since he is mindful of his covenant to give us the inheritance of his Kingdom.

Ne forte in vacuum currerem (Gal 2:2).

So that I might not be running in vain.

Each of us needs either a spiritual director or an adviser. For we are just human beings and can be mistaken. For that reason, the community of the Church provides people who are in charge of others. Consequently, there are various vocations to help one another in our journey to the Kingdom of God. And it is important to cooperate and to share our gifts with our brothers and sisters. Obviously, there are also some common tasks we all are to undertake. And it is worth to notice that we need to take care of each other. So if someone is wrong, we are to admonish him not to commit sin. Furthermore, sincerity is a foundation of our relationships in our communities. We cannot be afraid to speak the truth because it is the way which Jesus Christ chose to save the world. On the other hand, hypocrisy is the easiest way to destroy every good idea and organization. In short, we are to be on the right road in line with the truth of the Gospel. And we are not allowed to do anything which is opposite to it.

Evangelium non est secundum hominem (Gal 1:10).

The Gospel is not of human origin.

The word of God comes into human heart directly. Nobody can teach us it but our Lord. When he speaks, you know that it is the truth which you need in your life. Subsequently, you feel grateful for his grace and power which you have received from Heaven. You praise your God for his great works and delights. Furthermore, you are sure that he is faithful and reliable. Through his words you always get the inspiration to love one another as you have been loved by Jesus Christ. If you listen to his Gospel carefully, you become kind-hearted and open for the needs of others. You will never pass by anybody in need, but will be moved with compassion at his sight. Also you will be ready to sacrifice yourself and your plans to help and care for people. You will not think just about your interest. On the contrary, you will treat everyone with mercy as you have been given it. In such a way, the Good News might be shared in the world with your good will and openess of heart.

Sinite parvulos venire ad me (Mk 10:14).

Let the children come to me.

There are many difficult issues in our lives. Nonetheless, Jesus invites us to become like a child. In our opinion, children usually do not know how to cope with big problems. However, their attitude is very interesting. If they meet something what is too complicated , they ask their parents to help them. And their parents usually come and support them. We are to be similar to them in this attitude toward God, our Father. We can always ask him for help if we are not strong enough. There might be serious troubles either in our communities or in our relationships, but we do have opportunity to appeal for light to the beloved Father. And our Lord explains us that sometimes the difficult periods are to make us perfect through suffering. In this way we are being taught how to depend on God completely. Many times when we overcome difficulties, we can see that they were needed to strengthen us. In addition, we discover later how much good we have already received from God and our relatives. Also we understand that everything can be a blessing if we go trhough it with our Lord. May he only bless us all the days of our lives.

Potestas calcandi supra serpentes (Lk 10:19).

Power to tread upon serpents.

As Christian you have received the power to overcome all evil in your life. For you are being supported by the strength of Jesus Christ who is risen from death. You are not to be afraid nor to escape though Satan is acting in the world all the time. Nevertheless, you are encouraged to destroy the full force of your enemy. In addition, you should know that nothing will harm you if you are in good relationship with your Lord. With him you will obtain the kingdom of God and you will make it present among others. It is also the reason to rejoice in the Holy Spirit and to praise your Father, the Creator of heaven and earth. But many people still do not know about it. And we are to tell them and to reveal them the whole truth about their salvation. Since all people are created to get to know the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. It is the greatest blessing to understand that all of us are children of such a merciful God who is always with us.

Manum meam ponam super os meum (Jb 40:4).

I put my hand over my mouth.

The best attitude toward God is to abide in silence. For usually we speak too much and we do not know how to listen. Although we have two ears and only one mouth, we do not use these limbs accurately. If we heard God carefully, we would be aware of his presence in our lives. Since he is with us as we sit and as we stand; as we sleep and as we awake, always. Moreover, his Spirit gives us life and we can exist because of his grace. And there is no place in the universe where God is absent. For that reason, we are not able to hide anything from his sight. Everywhere his hand guides us and holds us fast. From the beginning of our life he forms our inmost being and our end is in his plans too. So we are to be grateful for all his blessings through our whole life. Further, we need to hear his voice and to fulfill his divine will. We should not harden our hearts when he calls us to sacrifice ourselves in accordance with his will. But just in silence we are able to understand his precepts fully and then to follow them. Subsequently, we are to admire God for his wonderful works in our lives.

Sicut agnos inter lupos (Lk 10:3).

Like lambs among wolves.

The Good News is to be preached. However, most of the Christians seem not to know about it. In their opinion, they are not responsible for doing this ministry. Therefore, Jesus so often reminds us that we are called to follow his example and to be witnesses to others. Moreover, he cautions us about the difficulties with teaching people. Nevertheless, he sends us like the humble lambs among wolves who share bad tidings. He encourages us to go with peace which is so much needed nowadays. Since inner peace is a sign of the deep relationship with God. With this peace in hearts we are able to become fruitful preachers. It does not mean that we will earn a lot, but in such a way we will be worthy to receive the reward of the heavenly kingdom. Further, we will prove that the kingdom of God is at hand and we need to repent and believe in the Gospel. As Christians we are to wait for the Lord with courage and be stouthearted. In all of this we are to take the example of our Good Shepherd who was calm, humble and patient.

Sapiens corde est et fortis robore (Jb 9:4).

Wise in heart and mighty in strength.

It is hard to get to know God. However, we have some hints from the Scriptures which describe him. Two very important God's characteristics are wisdom and might. They are so splendid that we even cannot compare our reasoning and strength with him. For we are just humans who are created by him. Our wisdom comes from his Wisdom and our strength has its source in his Might. As Bible says God is able to remove the mountains which means that he can do anything. In addition, the whole universe depends on him. Since he commands the sun and it rises; he also seals up all the stars. Everything what is created takes its being from him. With his great power he does wonderful things beyond reckoning. But at the same time, he is hidden from our sight. He uses his delicacy and it is difficult to recognise his steps and signs. We are worthy neither to compete with him nor to discuss. His mysteries are too profound and we are not able to perceive them. For that reason, our best attitude toward him is to stay in calmness and humbleness. Sometimes we can appeal to him and ask him for his light. If we do so, we might receive his divine gifts such as divine wisdom and strength.

Praecedet te angelus meus (Ex 23:23).

My angel will go before you.

We human beings cannot be angels, but we are called to be children of God. And it is our great honor to have God as our Father. Subsequently, it is our vocation to fulfill the role of child in our life. Further, it is the best way to enter the kingdom of heaven. First of all, we are to humble ourselves and to listen to God carefully. Through the Scripture he is calling us to place our trust and to abide in the shadow of the Almighty. Since he is our refuge and fortress. Moreover, he puts angels in charge to guard us in all our ways. They are supposed to rescue us from all the dangers, their pinions are to cover us and under their wings we can find the shelter from evil. As a result, we will not fear the terror of the night nor any problems. For we are sure that with their help no evil will befall us. In addition, we will be safe on our way to the heavenly kingdom. Only thing we are to do is to be attentive to them and to heed their voice. In such a way, we will achieve the goal of our earthly journey and live with God forever.

Homo simplex et rectus (Jb 1:8).

Blameless and upright.

God wants us to be blameless and upright. Satan enjoys when we are blameful and sinful. But it depends on us which one we choose to be our master. Many saints of the past desired God to be their Lord. And God blessed the work of their hands, but sometimes put them in front of temptation. In these difficult times, he could check whether they keep loving him or not. The holy people proved that they were worthy to be called God's children. And did not forget about him but believed in his mercy. Moreover, they prayed a lot even if they did not understand the will of God. They knew that God was the Lord and in his power was to give life and to take it away. Further, they were afraid to commit sin and have never said anything disrespectful of God. On the contrary, they inclined their ears to the God's voice and heard his words. Often with tears in their eyes they cried before God and asked him to have mercy on them. Although God tested their hearts with the fire of suffering, he found no malice in them.
